The date 25 October 1952 coincides with Picasso’s 71st birthday.

During this period, Picasso was based in Vallauris, frequently travelling between Vallauris and Antibes and often signing artworks, books, photographic prints, exhibition ephemera, and personal items for friends, local acquaintances, artisans, political visitors, and cultural figures.

The image of the dove (“La Colombe”) held symbolic relevance at the time, having become internationally associated with Picasso’s identity and the Peace Movement following its widespread use after the 1949 Paris Peace Congress.

Signed photolithographic prints from this period are documented in private archives, particularly in relation to Vallauris studio visitors and close personal encounters.
